& Our Values

Established in 2018 with the vision to help vulnerable young people.

As an organisation we are constantly learning, striving for excellence in every service we provide. We believe passionately in consistent positive development. This means consultation, reflection, action planning and implementation are all equally vital in our on-going commitment to quality improvement.

Our Service manager has over 15 years experience in the sector with specifically 5 years managing an Outstanding Residential Children’s Home and a successful Short Break crisis service where he created over 150 positive outcomes for young people and also assisted social workers in sourcing suitable follow on placements.

All our staff have Level 4 Diplomas in Health and Social care and are also trained in Safety Intervention by our partners the Crisis Prevention Institute. We have excellent relationships with local education provisions, and this has seen young people gain GCSE qualifications and transferable skills they can use into adult life. The team also has good links with local business that offer apprenticeship and job opportunities to our young people, Blackpool Zoo is an example of where our young people have completed work experience. Beyond their childcare qualifications, the team are trained and qualified in activities such as Football, Boxing, Swimming, Duke of Edinburgh, Personal Training and all of these activities can be structured into the young people’s weekly timetable.

Our vision is to ensure children and young people have the same opportunities as their peers including a right to a safe and secure family life which promotes their rights to safety and inclusion.

We aim to bring stability to the lives of the young people living within our homes whilst equipping them with the skills to achieve and to make a positive contribution. The young people will be given the full support from our dedicated and experienced staff team to make responsible life choices. Young people will be treated as individuals whilst taking into account that they will have a variety of individual needs that are addressed in a positive and progressive manner as part of a clearly defined care plan. At SBL Care Services we feel it is important young people within the homes are supported to focus on their futures. Through direct work with dedicated staff we will focus on developing life skills, education and emotional resilience in preparation for their successful future.

We aim to achieve a standard of excellence in all our services and therefore welcome comments from any person having contact with SBL Care Services.

Values as an organisation

Our values as an organisation are reflective of those which would be evident in any safe, healthy and supportive living environment and we believe residential care should be a positive, enriching experience for young people. This includes using fun activities and leisure time to develop relationships and social inclusion, which in turn helps to build the confidence and skills to handle the challenges of daily life. In fact, positive, productive and healthy relationships are the very platform for change. Once we have established a relationship based on mutual trust and respect, we nurture resilience in our young people. This gives them a greater ability to look at the future more positively.
